Award-winning actor Zolisa Xaluva, known for his captivating portrayal of a ruthless businessman on the hit drama series Smoke & Mirrors, has bid farewell to the small screen sensation. Xaluva, whose character Caesar captivated audiences, joined the show’s cast in April 2022, succeeding the popular series Imbewu: The Seed.
Reports have surfaced indicating that Xaluva’s departure from Smoke & Mirrors was not voluntary, as he was reportedly let go from the prime-time drama. This isn’t unfamiliar territory for the talented actor, who has faced similar situations in the past.
Final Chapter Productions, the production house behind the series, confirmed the separation from Xaluva, expressing gratitude for his contributions to the show while extending well wishes for his future endeavors.
This isn’t the first time Xaluva has found himself at odds with production teams. In 2022, during his tenure as Melusi in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora, disagreements with the show’s producers led to speculation about his departure.
Despite attempts to remove him from the cast, MultiChoice, the broadcaster, intervened, eventually allowing Xaluva to exit the show on his terms.
In light of Xaluva’s exit from Smoke & Mirrors, fans are left wondering about the fate of his character, Caesar. However, entertainment commentators have revealed that the character will live on, with esteemed actor Hlomla Dandala set to take on the role.
Dandala, renowned for his portrayal of Zweli on The River, steps into the shoes of Caesar, promising to bring a fresh dynamic to the beloved series.
